Assalamualaikum, Friends, still in the holy month of Ramadan, I will share recipes and how to make Kunafa Cheese, a very popular Middle Eastern dessert.

Kunafa is a Middle Eastern dessert made from layers of phyllo dough (kataifi) filled with cheese and topped with sweet syrup.

Phyllo dough is a type of dough made from flour, water, and a little oil or butter. This dough is then made into fine flakes that are used as layers in making cheese kunafa.

Kunafa itself has been around since the 10th century, this dessert was made by the Arabs.

Kunafa cheese is served in the form of small pieces or as one big unit which is then sliced when served.

A very good and delicious dessert. You should try it for your iftar menu, can be purchased at a typical middle eastern food store in your area or want to try making it?

Well this time I will share the recipe and how to make this Kunafa Cheese, listen to it until it's finished!!!

Here's the recipe and how to make Kunafa Cheese:

First prepare the ingredients first.

Here are some of the ingredients:

  • 500 grams phyllo dough (kataifi), shredded
  • 250 grams melted butter
  • 500 grams Nabulsi cheese or mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon rose water (or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice or lime juice
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pistachios

After the ingredients are ready, let's get to how to make it.

Here's how to make it:

First Grease a 22cm round cake pan with a little melted butter and set aside.

Then in a large bowl, mix the shredded phyllo dough and melted butter until well combined.

Then Take half of the phyllo dough mixture and spread it on the bottom of the cake pan, pressing gently.

After that, mix the grated cheese, rose water (or vanilla extract), and salt. Spread the cheese mixture over the phyllo dough.

Take the remaining phyllo dough mixture and spread it over the cheese mixture, pressing gently.

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Bake the cake pan for about 30 minutes or until the Kunafa Cheese turns golden brown.

Meanwhile, make the sugar syrup by combining the sugar, water, and lemon juice (or lime juice) in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.

Once the Cheese Kunafa is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Pour the sugar syrup over the cake and sprinkle the finely chopped pistachios on top.

Cut into pieces and serve Cheese Kunafa warm.

Now that's how to make it, it's quite easy right. Hopefully you succeed in making it.
